Mandatory check in will take place on Friday before the event. There will be a booth set up. Pick up your race day packet, luau tickets, and swag bags. Race tickets will still be available for purchase at this time with an additional $10 fee. Luau tickets will also be available at no additional cost.

This is your last chance to register for the event. Registration costs increase to $125 on the day of the event. Luau tickets will be available as well (at no additional cost).

Race Day Schedule

8 - 8:15am - Mandatory Safety Briefing
You must be present for the briefing to participate in the event. 

8:30 – 12pm – Race
The first heat of the race will begin at 8:30.
The event will be finished by noon. 

5:30 – 9:30pm - Sunset Luau and Awards Ceremony
Join us for the post-race celebration and awards ceremony. This is an outdoor event with the chance to take sunset pictures and mingle with your new friends from the race. Luau tickets are available to those who did not participate in the run as well. Food and entertainment will be provided. Alcoholic drinks for purchase.

 Nancy Williams first visited Kauai in 1992 and knew from that very first visit that she would live on Kauai.  Over the next 20 years Nancy returned to Kauai again and again, until finally (and happily!) moving to Kauai in 2012.

After successfully launching the first on-line honeymoon registry company, HoneyLuna.com in 1996, and successfully pioneering this new industry for 12 years Nancy sold her company and spent the next 7 years in Business Development for a technology company. 
Nancy’s experience running her own company, selling technology and servicing her clients in the hospitality industry instilled in her a deep since of responsibility for her clients.  She is applying these business skills in her real estate career.
In addition, Nancy’s entrepreneurial spirit, her outgoing personality and her passion for the island of Kauai make her a great advocate and resource for those looking to move to Kauai, as well as for those already living on Kauai but looking for a new home. 
Nancy is a photographer, a SCUBA Dive Master, avid hiker, a competitive outrigger canoe paddler for the Hanalei Canoe Club, gardener and aspiring surfer.  These passions and activities give Nancy a great appreciation for all that Kauai has to offer. Living on Kauai is Nancy’s dream come true.  She is excited to share her passion for Kauai, her insights, and her knowledge of Kauai with her clients.

The Ultimate Hawaiian Trail Run Foundation hosts a 10k, a 5k, or a 5k Team run option through the untouched mountains of Kauai. Pristine, private lands of the Knudsen Trust family are available solely to this event. The trails have been cut through the hard work of the Garden Island Motor Cycle Club, a non-profit organization that has been established on island for over 60 years. The run boasts incredible panoramic views and terrain that is exclusively accessible to trail run participants. You can run solo, or with a team, but either way prepare to be challenged by muddy slopes, uphill climbs, and trails designed by the the diverse tropical weather that the island of Kauai provides.  

The first heat of the race will begin at 8:30.

Anaina Hou Community Park will present "The Peanuts Movie", this Friday, September 1, 2017, the fifth film in their 2017 Free First Friday Film Series. 
"This month they will be showing 'The Peanuts Movie' with an amazing opening act from one of the performers from Keiki Fest, the amazingly talented kids of Bandwagon." The series will continue through October, with another free film presented on the first Friday of each month. The Free Film Series takes place on the event lawn at Kauai Mini Golf. The community is encouraged to come early and save a spot. Refreshments and dinner will be available for purchase from the Anaina Hou Cafe and the film will begin at dusk, around 6:00pm. This event is presented by Anaina Hou Community Park, a non-profit organization located near the heart of Kilauea on the North Shore of Kauai. The Owners of the Anchor Cove Shopping Center on Kauai, is planning to expand the Lihue property and add a new oceanfront restaurant with outdoor seating, as well as a new market or convenience store.

Work on the expansion, which involves the property adjacent to the main shopping center that is currently being used as office and storage space, is scheduled to start by the end of the year, according to The Beall Corp., which handles leasing for the shopping center.

The work will involve converting the existing warehouse space to retail, replacing the roof and adding awnings to the storefronts, in addition to adding the restaurant space.

Anchor Cove, which is located on Kalapaki Beach and within walking distance of Nawiliwili Harbor, where cruise ships dock weekly, is currently anchored by JJ’s Broiler restaurant, ABC Stores, Maui Divers Jewelry and Crazy Shirts.

Lihue-based architect Marc Ventura is the architect on the project, but a general contractor hasn’t been chosen yet, Cory Beall, president of The Beall Corp., told Pacific Business News.

KUIC (Kauai Island Utility Cooperative) said it filed a proposal with the state Public Utilities Commission that would provide customers with two new options to receive credit when installing a solar system.
KIUC proposes to revise its current Schedule Q program by which the utility pays customers for the excess power they generate and create two new options - customers self-supply and smart export. The customer self-supply program would allow customers to install a solar photovoltaic system or a PV system connected to a battery storage system to offset some or all of their energy needs, the utility said. However, customers would not be allowed to export excess energy back to the gird. The smart expert program on the other hand provides customers with the opportunity to get compensated for sending excess energy back to the grid during times when KIUC deems it valuable - meaning when there is high energy demand.
"Changes in policy are necessary due to the extremely high penetration of solar resources during daylight hours,” KIUC President and CEO David Bissell said in a statement. “Daytime export is no longer feasible when there isn’t adequate load to support it. This proposal could pave the way for more export in a way that benefits all KIUC members and the grid as a whole.” Other options under consideration for future rate changes, according to Bissell, include, among other things, a potential fixed charge for grid connection paid by all members. KIUC said roughly 3,700 customers currently have solar PV systems on their homes or businesses on the Garden Isle, comprising about 20 megawatts of total power provided to the grid.

Savor - A Wine and Chocolate Fundraising Event to be held at the beautiful setting of Po'oku Meadow at Princeville Ranch on Saturday evening August 19 from 6 pm - 10 pm. Local Kauai chefs will be serving up delicacies with cacao including pupus, main dishes and desserts with recommended wine pairings. All food and wine pairings are included in the ticket price. The net proceeds will benefit scholarships for Kauai North Shore youth. Last year Kauai North Shore Community Foundation was able to award $21,000 in scholarships from the inagural event! Free parking will be available at the NTBG South Shore Visitor Center located at 4425 Lawai Road in Po'ipu. Attendees will be shuttled into the garden from the Visitors Center for the movie*. First shuttles will depart from the South Shore Visitors Center at 5:00 p.m., last shuttle before the movie begins departs at 7:00 p.m. Before the movie begins, enjoy kid-friendly activities with Kaua'i Community College COGS and Kaua'i Educational Association for Science and Astronomy. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring low beach chairs or blankets for seating. Food will be available for purchase from Kauai's favorite food trucks. This is a family-friendly event, no alcohol please. Small, soft-sided coolers permitted.
