This Friday - Free Movie at the Poipu Beach Park for the live action Beauty and the Beast with the Koloa School Ukulele Band performing prior to the start of the movie at 8pm.
The Rotary Club of Poipu Beach presents Free Movies in the Park - Concession stand benefits Koloa School. Bring a beach chair and a blanket. Come and enjoy the fresh air and free movie.

The Waipa Foundation invites you to our 5th Annual Music & Mango Festival on Sunday, August 13th 2017, from 11am to 5pm. Join us at Waipa’s beautiful Halulu Fishpond for a fun and relaxing day enjoying home grown live music, hands-on activities, and local artisans and crafts! Island chefs and food vendors will offer amazing food inspired by the summer mango harvest! Also, recipe & biggest mango contests, cultural and educational displays!

Bring a beach blanket or chair and enjoy the entire day at Waipa, along Hanalei Bay (just a half mile past town). Admission just $10 for adults and $1 for keiki (ages 0-17). This event is benefit to support the work of The Waipa Foundation, a living learning center focused on taking care of our natural resources, practicing Hawaiian culture and values, and inspiring healthy keiki and community.

Come, fulfill everyone’s age old dream to relax on a tropical island and build a sand castle. Build a sand sculpture with friends and family. Design and build a sculpture on your own or with a team. Use your imagination and hands to cast a castle, dolphin, mermaid, dragon, car, mountains, face, crashed cadillac, aliens or whatever and win an awesome prize. Your business can even donate a prize and be listed on this site. The music and sand sculpture contest is FREE and open to everyone of any age.

The event is from 11 am – 3 pm to the left of the Hanalei pier. Remember to bring sun block, drinking water and the whole family (a tent can also be a good sun block).

Congrats to all the participants of the 11th Annual Hanalei Bay Swim Challenge that took place last Saturday morning & had over 200 participants. 

The swim challenge consisted of five races this year — the 3,000-meter swim, the 1,000-meter swim, the ages 9-12 division swim, the 8-and-under swim and the 1,000-meter swim with snorkel, fins and mask.
The furthest traveler traveled from Switzerland. People also attended from New Zealand, Australia and Canada. The youngest swimmer was 2, and the oldest was 87. A great turnout!

The annual event is the signature fundraiser for local nonprofit Namolokama O’Hanalei.

The proceeds from this year’s swim will go toward rebuilding a clubhouse for the club and a portion of the proceeds will also go to the Waipa Foundation in Hanalei.

The 11th Annual Hanalei Bay Swim Challenge takes place on July 29, 2017.   The swim, named one of the top 100 American Open Water Swims by the World Open Water Swimming Association, consists of fun and competitive races for all ages from Keiki to Snorkel and Fin.

Participants from Hawaii, the Mainland and all around the world come to the beautiful island of Kauai to compete in this fun open water event. Hanalei Bay in the summer – with its warm, clear, gentle waters and sandy bottom – provides the perfect venue for races for different ages and abilities. With safety the first priority, the race course will be closely watched by safety monitors on paddle boards, with jet skis and along the shore. In addition, general ocean safety information will be distributed to all swimmers and spectators.

From 8 and under to veteran champions of the sport, hundreds of swimmers of all ages and experience come from around the world to take the plunge into beautiful Hanalei Bay for this fun event.
