Hosted by Pu’uwai Canoe Club, the Resolution Run will wind through the newly opened public trails at Hokuala resort in Lihue. The event is open to runners and walkers. Leashed dogs are welcome and kids under 12 are free with a registered adult. Come participate in this great opportunity to explore trails and scenic views you never knew existed in your own backyard! Raceday registration will be available, but race T-shirts are only guaranteed for first 150 registrants. Keiki under 12 race free with an adult.

Packet pickup 3-6pm at the race start/finish. Directions: Drive into the Marriott and past the Hokuala gold club. Before the bridge take a left, and another left immediately. Drive to the end of the road, we’re in the cul-de-sac.

Grab your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks celebration at Poipu Beach Park. They will be showing a FREE family-friendly movie, “The Boss Baby”, on the big outdoor screen followed by the fireworks. Food trucks (The Fresh Shave, Kickshaw’s, Rafael’s Aloha Taco’s, Porky’s, Live Fire Pizza, Chipwrecked, Roots in Culture, & Sumiko’s Kettle Corn) will be lined up to keep bellies happy. The Celebration will take place on Saturday, December 31st from 5 pm-8:30 pm. Fireworks will be launched at 8:15pm sharp!

Waimea hosts its 57th Annual Christmas parade featuring a huge brigade of brightly lit big-rig trucks. This annual tradition is a time to celebrate the approaching holidays and remember the things for which we have to be thankful. This year's theme is "Truckers Light the Town," honoring Waimea's beloved truckers who are always a featured part of the parade.

Waimea Bridge will close at 5:30 pm and reopen by 8:00 pm.

Real estate investment firm Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP has placed acquisition financing of $32.3 million with a Mainland investor for Epic Real Estate Partners’ $43.55 million purchase of the Safeway-anchored center from Value Rock Realty Partners.
Texas-based Epic Real Estate Partners recently closed the the acquisition of the 109,466-square-foot shopping center, which is also anchored by Ross Dress for Less, from Value Rock Realty Partners, which was represented by HFF, according to the firm’s Boston office.
HFF worked on behalf of Epic Real Estate Partners to place a three-year, floating-rate loan with a life company, a new investor in Hawaii, the firm said.It was the second such placement in 18 months for HFF, which worked on Terramar Retail Centers' $64.75 million sales in June 2016 of the Lahaina Cannery Mall on Maui to US Realty Partners Inc. 
Meanwhile, Epic Real Estate Partners has tapped Commercial Consultants Inc. to handle leasing at Kauai Village, which is also set to undergo renovations.
