The Na Pali Race 2018 was a great success with a unique 25 mile route for OC1, OC2, and Holopuni Sailing Canoes. With the road to Haena closed due to landslides the race started from Anini beach, Reside Kauai sponsored brothers Waioli and Kailoa Forrest were the first paddle powered boat to the finish line with a 2:36 finish.  The SUP and prone paddlers were shuttled via boat to Haena for the Haena Beach Park start, Reside Kauai SUP 50-59 paddler Derek Moore finished third 2:54 within a few minutes of first place. Kai Lenny was the lone Hydrofoil obliterating the course in 1:19, would have like to watch Kai foil a bit but he was gone! Paul hopes to finish competitively one of these years and is grateful to finish in under 4:00 hours (3:51) beating last years 4:18 time. This event is not for everybody, if you have ever considered paddling the entire Na Pali this is a great opportunity for safe passage with a competitive edge. Come join us or donate to the cause.
