Bicycle Racing Kauai & Tradewind Cycling Team Present their 9th Annual Pedal to the Meadow Plus Saturday, May 26, 2018 & Sunday, May 27, 2018
Start Hawai`i bicycle climbing season at the 9th annual Pedal to the Meadow hill race on Kaua`i. Cycle from sea-level Kekaha up to Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Koke`e State Park. Come climb over the hills and through the woods. Check out last year’s results, this year’s race details, and plan to pedal to the meadow! Then stay for Sunday’s Mana Time Trial and the new Cycle on the Strip Criterium at Kauai Raceway Park (a.k.a. the drag strip.) Saturday, May 26-About 100 cyclists will be on the road from Kekaha to Koke'e in the morning. Koke`e Road up to the intersection will be CLOSED 7:30 - 9:15 a.m., so please use Waimea Canyon Drive and be extra careful where the two roads meet and near the finish chute near the 16-mile marker / Meadow entrance. Sunday, May 27- Mana Time Trial bicycle race - Bicycles on Highway from MacArthur Beach Park in Kekaha out to Mana and back, 8 - 11 a.m. NO lane closures. Cyclists have the right to take the lane if the shoulder is hazardous...so please drive with aloha. ** Please drive/pass with extreme care, and allow 3-4 feet clearance from racers. If you pass, watch for oncoming/ downhill vehicles... and never pass on a blind corner! **
