The National Tropical Botanical Garden on Kauai has opened online registration for the March Botanical Illustration Intensive Workshop and spots are already filling fast.
The workshop is being offered in one-, two-, or three-week sessions between March 6-25 at NTBG Headquarters in Kalaheo.
The workshop will once again be lead by botanical illustrator, author, and instructor Wendy Hollender, whose works have been featured in The New York Times, Sunset Magazine, and in exhibitions at the the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, D.C., and the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, England.
Hollender will teach the critical elements of plant structure and their importance through dissection and comparison. Students will create detailed botanical drawings and sketches of flowering plants, fruits, and seed pods, working with a wide variety of tropical plant material growing in NTBG’s South Shore Gardens.
