In the Spirit of Bon This year we continue to honor those who have come before us, especially the pioneering Issei or first generation women, who came to Hawai’i between 1885-1924. We focus on the 20,000 pictures brides who exchanged photos with their prospective grooms, and journeyed to the islands to start a new life. We share their stories through a special exhibit and cultural performance. Free gifts to VISITORS and off-island guests!
