Banana Poka RoundUp is set for Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Koke‘e Civilian Conservation Corps Camp in Koke‘e State Park. It takes place from 10am and ends by 4pm. It is sponsored by Hui o Laka and the family event features vine basket making, guava wood walking stick decorations, children’s games, silent auction, and hands-on exhibits from over ten environmental and conservation organizations and agencies on the island. One of the features of the fair is a crowing contest at noon featuring Russell da Rooster from Storybook Theater of Hawai‘i. There are snacks and live Hawaiian music performances throughout the day. It is sponsored in part by the County of Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Tourism Authority. Banana Poka RoundUp is free and open to the public. Parking is around the meadow with a short walk up the driveway to the camp overlooking the Lodge and Museum. A shuttle is provided. Hui o Laka members get a special museum shop discount.
